Activities
Research shows that children demonstrate readiness to engage in science, technology, reading, engineering, arts and mathmatics right from the start. You may have heard of stem learning which turned into steam and now stream learning. In an effort to engage all of our iKids in stream learning we are partnering together with HiMama and Funshine Express to accomplish that. All of our curriculum follows California state developmental standards. Let us get your child started off learning and loving school. Our preK class has been learning about gardening so these boys wanted to show their harvest.
Storytelling
In our curriculum, purchased through funshine express, 1-2 books are highlighted in the learning experience each week. Teachers from the baby room all the way up to prekindergarten class love to add to the children's experiences using age appropriate literature.
We also have a lending library for our families. You are welcome to borrow any book we just ask that you return before taking another one.
Arts & crafts
Our curriculum has many developmentally appropriate arts, crafts and cooking experiences. You will have access through the Hi Mama app to see recipes and what is being learned through these experiences. We want to encourage creativity and expression through our artistic endeavors.
Spanish and Sign Language
In our curriculum, purchased through funshine express, 1-2 spanish and sign language words are highlighted in the learning experience each week. Strengthening communication skills by introducing theme-related Spanish and sign language within the context of specific activities.
American Marshal Arts Academy generously provides a free monthly class for our iKids that are three years and older. The class is taught at our location the last Friday of every month. Many of our kids take classes there after school as well. Click on the picture to find out more information about their programs.
Celebrations & holidays
At ikids we love celebrating holidays with our friends including birthdays. Use the helpful HiMama app to communicate with your child's teacher about what date and time works best to celebrate your child and what you would like to bring in for the class. When we celebrate the holidays the teachers have sign up sheets that they share with you through the app. Any participation in providing items for parties and events is voluntary and never required.
